Controversa dintre Reuters și CCTV: Video despre discuția Xi Jinping – Vladimir Putin eliminat

Recent developments in international media highlight a significant incident involving Chinese state television. The Central Television of China (CCTV) demanded the withdrawal of a video where Chinese leader Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed the possibility of extending human lifespan. This request led to the withdrawal of a four-minute video by Reuters, which had released footage based on the original materials provided by CCTV.

The discussion took place during a parade in Beijing, commemorating the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II. Xi emphasized that historically, reaching 70 years old was rare, but now it signifies youth. Putin responded by indicating that advancements in biotechnology and organ transplantation might bring humanity closer to immortality, underscoring the potential of living up to 150 years within this century.

Following the video’s release, CCTV’s legal team accused Reuters of violating usage rights by distorting the facts presented in the licensed broadcast. Although the video was removed, Reuters maintained that their commitment to accurate and impartial journalism had not been compromised, indicating they had thoroughly reviewed the content.

Putin himself confirmed the conversation concerning extending human life to 150 years, suggesting that modern medical advancements could significantly enhance life expectancy. As he approaches 73 years of age, having been in power for a quarter of a century, speculation abounds regarding the peculiar interest in longevity among Russian leadership, with reports indicating that their focus on life extension may drive scientific research related to aging.

The major advocate for these initiatives appears to be Mikhail Kovalchuk, a long-time associate of Putin and the head of the Kurchatov Institute, who oversees state-run genetics research programs. Amid these efforts, Putin reportedly employs unconventional measures to prolong his life, such as rumored therapeutic baths with deer blood, attributed with rejuvenating properties.
